Successful Savings for Teens

The Credit Union offers the SST (Successful Savings for Teens) account. This is a teen account for youth between 13 and 17 to help establish financial responsibility. This account allows teens to open Share Draft Checking accounts and apply for certain loans at an early age, with a parent or guardian co-signer. Teen loans are counted towards the teen’s credit. 
 
Successful Savings for Teens Account

Minimum Opening Amount

$25 must remain on deposit for the duration of membership. The initial $25 deposit gives primary members who are 16 and older full voting rights and ownership in the credit union.

Minimum Balance

$25. A $5 fee is assessed if the account falls below the minimum.

Service Charge

No monthly service charge.

Withdrawal/Transfers

No withdrawal fee. Limited to six Regulation D transfers per month (includes overdraft transfers).

Dividends

Refer to the Savings Rate Sheet for current rates. Dividends are calculated on the daily balance and paid quarterly. No dividends will be paid if the account was closed during the quarter.

Direct Deposit

Members may have money deposited directly into their account with direct deposit or payroll deduction.

Statements

Statements are sent quarterly. If the member also has a Share Draft (Checking) account, Traditional or AltaAdvantage Money Market account or any loan then they are sent monthly. Members have the option to receive paper statements in the mail or electronic statements through AltaOne Online Banking.

Free ATM card, can use Share account for Overdraft Protection on a Share Draft Checking Account.
